Privacy Policy

The Riverside County Medical Association (RCMA) is committed to the safeguarding of their online users' privacy. Please read the following policy to understand the rules and procedures followed by RCMA in handling personal information provided to us over the internet.

1.  What information does RCMA collect?

In order to facilitate access to members-only content, RCMA collects member profile information (name, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, medical license number, specialty, medical school, year of graduation, faculty affiliation and other information) for its database.

Members are given the opportunity to update their profiles that are made available to the public. Members who participate in commenting features of the site agree to have their name and perspective shared with other RCMA members via online discussion. Participation in these features is completely voluntary.

RCMA collects information from members required to complete the dues payment processing.

2. Mailing List Policies

Users' email addresses are stored in a secure database so we may communicate valuable information more efficiently. Members will receive only materials created by RCMA for RCMA members. We will not share or sell a member's email address with any other organization.

You may opt out of any communications from RCMA by contacting the RCMA office.

3. Access to Your Personal Information

RCMA members have the opportunity to view and correct their membership data and make any corrections they wish.

4. How RCMA Uses the Personal Information We Collect:

RCMA uses the personal data we receive in order to enhance our member services. Data is shared with the California Medical Association and American Medical Association and component societies in order to assure the highest possible level of accuracy in the three organizations' lists of physicians.

The data is used internally to electronically distribute our email newsletter, as well as other electronic and hard copy newsletters, and other in house mailings.

RCMA's mailing list, consisting of names and addresses but not telephone or fax numbers or email addresses, is rented to parties interested in communicating with our membership typically for commercial purposes. Use of the lists is carefully controlled by a strict written agreement prohibiting further distribution of mailing list and use solely for the designated purpose.

RCMA secures the personal information, including credit card numbers, received from individuals who make online membership dues for automated annual renewal.

RCMA uses a secure server with 128-bit encryption to assure the security of the data being transmitted to RCMA. RCMA' database is protected from unauthorized access by a series of highly sophisticated software protection programs.

RCMA will disclose personal information to third parties if we believe in good faith that the law requires us to do so.

RCMA reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Amendments will be posted to at this location.
