UCR Med School Opening Could Be Delayed

National medical school accreditors have told UC Riverside administrators preliminary accreditation of the school's proposed four‐year medical school program is to be delayed until state funding concerns are addressed. UCR had planned to enroll medical students beginning in summer 2012, but needed the preliminary accreditation to proceed. The school's med school opening will be delayed unless a resolution can be reached with state lawmakers.

All members are strongly encouraged to send a letter of support of the UCR Medical School to Governer Brown by FAX (916) 558‐3160 urging him to pass the state budget in a timely manner, and include funding for the UCR School of Medicine.
